Crimson Night
Rally of protestors set fire to memorial on Thursday, November 21st. Officers spray protestors with hose causing an attack on city hall.


Awaiting the Train
Iraqi Man waits for train, wanting to commit suicide on the tracks, June 30th. Man is taken off tracks before killing himself, saved by bystander.

1. Rule of thirds- moving the subject out of the middle of the photograph to improve composition
2. Balancing Elements- equal visual performance
3. Leading Lines- lines the lead the eye to or from a subject
4. Symmetry and Patterns (repetition)- both sides are similar and have same patterns
5. Viewpoint- an angle that draws the eye to a different place
6. Background- scene farthest from lens
7. Create depth- focus range varying 
8. Framing- subject being defined an outline
9. Cropping- removal of unneeded edges
10. Mergers and avoiding them- subject is being distracted by object in front or behind

ISO- sensitivity of the subject

Shutter Speed- how fast the shutter captures the picture

Aperture- size of opening on lens
